Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles - A Guide for New Residents

Posted by admin in Nebraska DMVNebraska Department of Motor Vehicles

When moving to a new state, it's important to make sure that your vehicle is re-registered and a new driver's license is obtained. The Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles has several locations to assist new residents with this important task.

Time is of the essence at the Nebraska DMV, as new residents have 30 days to obtain a new resident Driver's License, Title, and Registration for all applicable vehicles brought into the State of Nebraska. In addition, certain vehicles are required to undergo a thorough inspection.

In order to obtain a new driver's license, a new resident must visit the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles location in their county to fill out a driver's license application and present valid proof of identification. Proof of identification would be your current driver's license or other acceptable personal identification including your full name and date-of-birth.
