Nebraska is known as the Cornhusker State, with Lincoln as its capital. The Nebraska map will show you where all the major cities and towns are as well as the highways.

It also shows you the six bordering states; which are Iowa to the east, Missouri to the southeast, Kansas to the south, Colorado to the southwest, Wyoming to the west, and South Dakota to the north. Omaha, birthplace of President Gerald Ford is Nebraska's largest city.

Omaha lies right on the eastern border. The lay out will also help you to locate the rivers. There are several big rivers that run through Nebraska. The Nebraska map shows two major interstates. Interstate 29 which runs right along the eastern border between Kansas and Iowa. Omaha is located on this interstate. Interstate 29 intersects with interstate 80 in Omaha. Interstate 80 runs east to west all the way from Omaha to Colorado and Wyoming. In Colorado it becomes Interstate 76 which goes to Denver. Interstate 80 continues west through Wyoming.

Lincoln, Nebraska's largest city lies along Interstate 80 in addition to some of its major towns which include; grand Island, just to the north of the interstate, Kearney which is west of Lincoln, and the towns of North Platte and Ogallala to the west.

On the Nebraska map you will see the rivers. A major river which runs through Nebraska is the Platte River. The Platte river branches off to become the North Platte River which eventually goes into Wyoming and the South Platte River runs runs into Colorado. The diagram also shows three more rivers. The Missouri River lies right on the eastern border next to Missouri and Iowa. Then there is the Niobrara River which runs west along the upper portion the the state and into Wyoming as well.

The Republican River flows in a northwesterly direction from Kansas. This river flows into the South Platte river in Colorado. Many maps of Nebraska will point out famous landmarks.

One of the major landmarks in Nebraska is the Agate Fossil Beds National Monument located in the northwestern portion of the state. In addition, the Scotts Bluff National Monument lies in the western part of the state.

Chimney Rock National Historic site is one of America's most famous landmarks. Chimney Rock's location is in the norther part of the state, this was also a famous site along the Oregon Trail. There are also some indian reservations on Nebraska's map.

The Niobrara reservation is hoe to the Santee Sioux located in the northern part of the state. The Winnebago and Omaha Reservations are located on the eastern border right on the Missouri River. The Sac and Fox reservation lies in the extreme southeaster part of Nebraska on the Iowa border.

The map of Nebraska is an excellent resource for new residents and visitors who are unfamiliar with the area and are interested in learning where things in the state are located.
